Biography

Samuel Ely, the son of Samuel Ely and Mary Day was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on 9 May 1668[1] and died in West Springfield on 23 Aug 1732. He married Martha Bliss on 10 Nov 1697.[2] When Martha died in 1702 he remarried Sarah Bodurtha on 7 Dec 1704.[3][4] He lived in Hatfield Massachusetts. He is buried at Old Meadow Cemetery in West Springfield.

Ely-140 and Ely-152 appear to represent the same person because: I propose a merge of these 2 Samuels with the same death dates. It is likely that Samuel was born in 1668, or after 1665, because he had a brother named Samuel who died in infancy in 1665, so the longer-living Samuel was probably the replacement child.
