John Ely, Lyme, Conn., b. 1781, d. 1817, son of James Ely and Catherine Hayes; m. 1802, Lucy Miller, Hamburg, Conn., who was b. 1777, d. 1859, dau. of Valentine Miller and Mary Miller. Their children :

1. Horace, b. 1803, m. 1827 Rhoda Tooker.

2. William James, b. 1806, m. 1835, Elizabeth H. Ely (13726); m. 1844, Emma Giddings (Ely), (13732).

3. John Griswold, b. 1810, d. 1863, m. 1832 Sally P. Williams.

4. Rodney Brockway, b. 1812, d. 1813.

5. Ansel Rodney, b. 1814, d. i860, m. 1840 Mary Ann McCrery.

6. Calvin Lynds, b. 1816, m., 1841, Orvice Elizabeth Brockway; m., 1874, Elizabeth Mather Hayden.

John died age 36, buried in Lyme CT.
