Hiram English was born about 1826 in New Brunswick. He was the son of Abel English and Elizabeth Crawford. In 1851, Hiram, age 25, was living with his parents and siblings on the family farm in Norton, Kings County, New Brunswick.[1]
He married Clarissa Jane Seely in 1859.[2] (Note: Some sources have this marriage date as 1848. This is unlikely as Clarissa would have been too young, and Hiram was unmarried on the 1851 census).
There is no sign of the family on the 1861 New Brunswick census. In 1871, they were living in Saint John.[3] Hiram was a blacksmith.
Hiram died on February 10, 1902 in Malden, Massachusetts.[4]
