Abstract: for 30 pounds, a certain tract of land of about 200 acres in H on both sides of the Rocky Branch (it being the same tract which the said Wooding purchased of Edward Powell by H deed) and bounded by John Tuck ' William Powell, Luke Powell, the Cowford Road, John Tuck's new line. [S67727] Mary Frances Reynolds Eggleston. [3] Deed, Joseph Cole of Halifax, VA to David Powell of Halifax, VA Abstract: for 60 pounds, about 101 acres in Halifax. VA on the north side of Banister River. The 101 acres is made up of 2 tracts purchased by sd Joseph Cole of Joseph Land and the afd David Powell. The 1st tract, purchased of said Joseph Land, contains 81 acres, and is bounded by the mouth of Rocky branch, the East fork, Luke Powell, David Powell. The 2nd tract, purchased of the aforesaid David Powell, contains about 20 acres adjoining the aforesaid 80 acres. The 20 acres is bounded by the Cowford branch, Powell & Coles corner, taking in a Spring, Hills corner. Signed: Joseph Cole. Wit: Joseph Holt, John (X his mark) Kent, James Cole. Recorded Sep 22, 1788.

[4] Deed, Thomas Greene, Esq, of the District of 96 and SC to David Powell of Halifax, VA

Abstract: for 70 pounds and for divers other good causes, all the plantation or tract of land containing 140 acres in H on the north side of Banister River, and bounded by Winns Cr, Rocky Branch, Powell, being part of a tract of 200 acres originally granted to William Sizemore, and by him conveyed to John Wells, and by John Wells bequeathed to said Thomas Greene. Signed : Thos Green. Wit: William Meriwether, Absalom Hendrick, Ralph Cobbs, Mesheck Overbey. Recorded May 25, 1789. It was decreed by H Court that the lands mentioned in said deed should be absolute and made valid to said Powell, and that the same should be recorded.
