Research suggests that this person may never have existed. See the text for details.

Relationships between historical figures could have been simplified or even fabricated in the text to give the impression that succession remained within the same family….Precise chronology is also difficult to assess from the Sagas….The conclusion must be that the tight family network described in the Sagas is unlikely to be correct and that the relationships shown below should be treated with considerable caution. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/NORWEGIAN%20NOBILITY.htm

The parents listed for this individual are speculative and may not be based on sound genealogical research. Sources to prove or disprove this ancestry are needed. Please contact the Profile Manager or leave information on the bulletin board.

Note

Dotter, Datter, Dottir are all the same, meaning "daughter" in Scandinavia, and attached behind of the father's first name. A woman kept her birth name all her life and did not take on her husband's last name as her own.

    • her daughter Astrid Trygvesdottir has a daughter named Ragnhild, AKA Astrid the Arbane, who should not be confused with her mother.**

Biography

Astrid Erikksdottir ... [1] SUMMARY: Daughter of Eirik Bjodaskalle in Oprostader. Trygve became king of Viking and Rånrike after his father, Olav's death. After her husband's death, Astrid and a few servants escaped secretly, and she soon after gave birth to a son, Olaf. Olaf was raised at the court of the Russian king. He went to Norway to claim his right to the throne, and he later became King Olaf Trygveson. (995-1000). His mother Astrid was held in slavery until 996. At that time a wealthy trader named Loden, from Viken, bought her to take her back to Norway. She became his wife. Her remaining years she lived in Norway.
