Crawford had three wives: Eliza Ann Craig (1818-1856), Rachel Humes (1822-1893) and Elizabeth Adams Hopkins (1828- ).

1880 in Hoosier, Clay, Illinois in Crawford's Household as Thos Mcwilliams, 25 male born 1855 in Michigan of parents born in Ireland. He was a farm laborer and relation to HOH was other.
1900 in Hoosier Township, Clay, Illinois as HOH at 44 born 1856 in Michigan of parents born in Michigan. Lived between two Erwin HOH's: Crawford 82 and Edward E 27.
1910 in Hoosier, Clay, Illinois as HOH at 54 born 1856 in New York of parents born in New York. Crawford 92 was listed as his stepfather.
