Perry L. Erwin was born about July 1846 in Illinois.[1][2]
In 1850, Perry "S." Erwin, 4, lived with his parents, David and Martha Erwin, and two brothers. Lydia Erwin, 69, lived with the family.[1]
In 1860, David Erwin, a 39 year old farmer b. Indiana, lived in Township 4 N Range 7 E, Clay, Illinois, with his wife Eliza, and seven children born in Illinois.[3]
In 1870, Perry L. Erwin, a 24yo farmer, lived in Hoosier Prairie Twp., Clay Co., Illinois, with 3 other Erwins: Elijah H., 22yo; Jaben B., 19yo; and Mary E., 16yo. All were born in Illinois and owned $200 in real estate.[4]
In 1880, Perry Erwin, 33yo b. Illinois, was a farmer apparently living alone in Hoosier Prairie Twp., Clay Co., Illinois. His father was born in Indiana and his mother in Illinois.[5]
He died on 18 March 1893 and is buried at the Hoosier Prairie Cemetery, Louisville, Clay County, Illinois.[2]
