Dicey Estes was born about 1 January 1748 in Amelia, Virginia, daughter of Elisha Estes (1729–1791) and Frances Bottom (about 1734–about 1808).
Dicey died before 1827 in Garrard, Kentucky, United States, aged about 79.

provides will of Jesse Kirby, many relationships (widow: Dicey Estes Kirby Bartee, children, widow's parents, widow's 2nd husband, etc.)
DEATH: before 27 Sep 1827
In Chancery Records sons, John & Elisha, refer to her as deceased in documents dated Sep & Dec 1827. However, she and John Bartee are included in summons issued in 1837...they do not appear though.
MOVE TO KY: after Sep 1787
In Chancery Records sons, John & Elisha state at the time of their father's death they "were very small children, and afterwards upon the marriage of their mother...with John Bartee they were carried out of...Virginia by the said Bartee, and lived with him in the state of Kentucky..."
Another document in the file states: "...some years after the marriage...removed to some part of the western country...

Page 56. Will. I, Elisha Estes Sr or F, being weak of body but of sound memory.
To my wife Frances Estes – the use of the plantation I now live upon, with all the stock of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, “&c” and also all my household furniture, beds, goods, “&c”, with all my kitchen furniture, all my crop of corn, tobacco, wheat, oats, “&c” on said plantation, when I am dead. She is to pay my just debts. She is to have the use of Negroes Davie & Grace. All is to be left to her during her natural life, only what is hereafter excepted, viz, my desire is that my wife give out my stock &c above mentioned unto my daughter Fanny Estis, 2 likely cows and purchase her a woman’s saddle worth 4 L 10 shillings, and 1 feather bed & furniture.
To my daughter Fanney Estis – I also give her my Nergo girl named Lucy.
To my daughter Mary Fuller – 1 likely cow & calf out of the stock lent my wife, as above.
To my children, vix, Dice Bartie, Keziah Kerby, Elizabeth Anglin, Fanney Estes, Elisha Estes, Bottom Estes, Asa Estis, and Jesse Estes – after the death of my wife, my Negroes Davie & Grace, with all my household furniture, beds, goods, crops &c that then may remain, be equally divided among my children, only if my sons Elisha & Bottom render an account of what stock and furniture they have received from me heretofore, that all my sons may be equal.
To my sons Asa Estis and Jesse Estis – all the land I now live upon, containing 300 acres, to be equally divided after my wife’s death.
Executors: my wife Frances Estes, my son Bottom Estis, and my friends Frederick Reves and Samuel Calland.

At F Court of March, 1791, the will of Elisha Estis deceased was produced in court by executors Frances Estes, Bottom Estes, and Frederick Reeves, and proved by the oath of witnesses Samuel Calland & Joshua Brock, and OR
