Biography

Thomas Estes was born about 1715 in King and Queen County, VA. He was the son of Sylvester Estes and his wife, Caroline.

Thomas moved to North Carolina with his father in the 1720s. By 1734 he was in Bertie (now Northampton) Co, NC

He married Elizabeth ? (or maybe Rosina Smith).

1753-54 he was in Halifax County, Virginia

Moved to Orange Co, NC by 1760

Debra, please provide sources for Thomas' existence, parents and family. Thank you.
Further research is needed to confirm who the wife and parents are of this Thomas Estes. It's not clear whether he is the same as Thomas the Tory who IS married to Elizabeth Burroughs.

To avoid confusion, for the time being, perhaps we remove Elizabeth Burroughs as wife until we have confirming source. Thoughts? Thank you.

Estes-1419 and Estes-262 are not ready to be merged because: The mother needs confirming, as well as the DOB.

Let me know what you think. These two look like a duplicate. although some of the dates differ.

If they are the same it helps clear up some of the Burroughs/Estes records
