Relocation to Saint John River Settlement, New Brunswick
In 1763 the couple and their family relocated to a settlement on the St. John River in Sunbury county, New Brunswick called the Maugerville twp. Richard's twin brothers Zebulon and John and sister Sarah who married Thomas Barker also made the trip to New Brunswick. Richard built a log home on Lot Number One Hundred allotted to him at Andover, Massachusetts and later granted to him by the Government of Nova Scotia.

When the signers of the petition, sent to the officials at Halifax, N. S., met in April, 1762, with Captain Francis Peabody at their head, it was agreed each family should pay six shillings toward the erection of a mill in the new township.

A saw mill and a grist mill were erected on a small creek in the Maugerville Township by said Francis Peabody and Doctor Phinehas Nevers, and later sold to Richard Estey and his brother- in - law, Thomas Barker. [11]

The millsite became known as "Windmill Point". The Township was situated on very low interval land and on a site unsuitable for the construction of a dam where water could be stored and used to drive the waterwheel. The millsite at "Windmill Point" was later conveyed to James Woodman. [12]

Death
Richard passed away on April 9, 1817, in Sheffield, Sunbury county, New Brunswick, Canada, having lived a long life of 89 years. [13]
