Elizabeth is the great grandmother of American financier Thomas Fortune Ryan, (1851–1928), the youngest man to own a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. At one time Ryan had controlling interest in 30 corporations. Upon his death on November 23, 1928, Thomas Fortune Ryan was the South's wealthiest native son and the 10th wealthiest man in America. Thomas Fortune Ryan and his second wife are buried in his Oak Ridge Estate Cemetery in Nelson Co. Virginia.[2]
