This profile previously said: "Sarah died at the age of about 82 on 3 April 1833 in Macon, North Carolina, USA." Note this curious detail. Sarah and William Fortune's death dates are both listed as 3 Apr 1833.
3 Apr 1833 was actually the date that William's pension was approved for his Revolutionary War service. It's more probable that at some point a researcher noted that they died after this date, and it morphed into their death dates. The death date for Sarah has been changed to reflect this.
The Rev. War pension was paid out until it ceased in March 1840, which should indicate that one or both spouses were living until about that time.
