Jenkin was born around 1715, probably in Cerrigydrudion and possibly to a father called Evan.
He married Catherine sometime around 1735 and they had at least five children together. One, Evan died within a month of being born. All children were born at Ty`n y pwll in Cerrigydrudion.
Jenkin Evans and Margaret Cadwalader married at Cerrigydrudion. The entry reads:
"Jenkin Evans of this Parish, Carpenter, and Margaret Cadwalader of this Parish, Widow, Married in the Church by Licence this Fifteenth Day of January in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty two by me David Lloyd, Rector. In the Presence of : the mark of David "X" Jones; Lewis Lloyd."
On the baptism record for his daughter Elizabeth his trade is noted as Joiner. The Jenkin Evans of Cronglwyd who died in 1781 was probably the same person because his trade was noted as Carpenter on his marriage to his second wife Margaret in 1762. The first names of the surviving children born at Ty`n y pwll to Jenkin and Catharine, are the same as those belonging to the children on the will of Jenkin of Cronglwyd.
Jenkin Evans, Yeoman of Cronglwyd, Cerrigydrudion was buried on 3rd January 1781. He`d made a will the previous year which noted his failing health. The entry in the Parish Records reads: "Jenkin Evans of Cronglwyd was buried the 3rd days of Jan."
