Biography

Jeremiah "Jerry" Evans owned a house of entertainment known as the Spread Eagle in Jennings Gap between Harrisonburg and Staunton. It was on the main road leading to the mineral springs in Bath and Greenbriar. This was a large inn that had facilities for 30 horses. He also operated a store at the location.
