Biography

John Wesley Evans was born October 14th, 1883 to Wesley Evans and Hannah (Jennie) Reeves in Muskingum county, Ohio. The search for John Wesley Evans past was a complicated dig, in the adjacent counties of Licking, and Noble, within just a couple years, there were two other John W. Evans born, one of which was actually ‘John Wesley Evans’ of licking county. In 1900 John was living at home with his parents in Falls Township Outside Of Zanesville, Ohio. I cannot confirm the 1910 census, but I can’t find a close census in Ohio for him, considering that his siblings Ross and Mary both moved to Oregon between 1900 and 1910 and were living in Portland, I think it’s probable he went with them. On the 18th of April 1914 John Married Stella Eden of West Virginia, she was the sister of William Eden who married John’s sister Louise. John’s father Wesley passed away in 1918 and by 1920 Johns mother Jennie was living with him at his home back in Falls Township, presumably until her death in 1923. Between their marriage and 1920 John and Stella had borne four sons Charles, Wilbur, John, and Joseph. And by 1940 his daughter in law and granddaughter Nancy were living with them. John resided in Zanesville until his death in 1968.

John was born in 1885.
