I am a co-wikitreer and working on the Ewing-Snow line. I believe the death date for Sally Ewing, daughter of Joseph Ewing Jr., profile: Ewing-49, is incorrect. I know that Charles Nelson Sinnett in his Walter Merryfield genealogy noted that Sally's death date was March 17, 1866, but, despite all of his great work, in this instance he conflated two Sarah/Sally Ewing/s.

The Sarah "Sally" (b. June 28, 1785), who married Capt. Jesse Snow and who was daughter of Joseph Jr. and Sarah (Merryman) Ewing, died in Brunswick on April 17, 1872 at the age of stated age of 84. Jesse is noted in the same record as having died same place at the stated age of 73 on April 19, 1852. This record is included in the Maine Nathan Hale Cemetery Collection, frame #1410 of 1526. Both Jesse and Sarah "Sally" are buried at the Growstown Cemetery on Church Road in Brunswick, Cumberland Co., Maine.

The conflated Sarah "Salley" (Salley with an "e"), profile: Ewing-3778, was the daughter of James Ewing, brother of Joseph Jr. James's "Salley" was born on June 23, 1781 and married Capt. Paul Snow, older brother of Jesse's. In short, Sally and Salley, both Ewing/s, were 1st cousins and born almost exactly 4 years apart. This Salley, who married Paul Snow, is the Salley, who died on March 17, 1866. Her Inscription on her headstone at the Old Harpswell Center Cemetery is engraved: "SARAH Wife of Capt. Paul Snow died May 17, 1866".

I have made a note of this error in Sarah "Salley" profile: Ewing-3778 as well as in her parents' profiles, her parents being James and Olive (Bailey) Ewing. Given the source, i.e. the Maine Nathan Hale Cemetery Collection, I will make the change in a couple days, if you have not done so re: updated Sally's date and location of her death. I will make a note in a "Research Notes" section of the conflation and the Sinnett error in her profile.
