Thomas Benton Ewing was born September 30, 1857 in McLennan Co., Texas to Samuel Leonidas Ewing and Mary (Long) Ewing.
After the death of both of his parents during the civil War, he went to live with uncle James Porter Ewing who given guardianship of all four boys, although some of them lived with their grandparents.
He never married until the age of 53 when he married widow Mary Sarah (Pease) Spradling, 18 years his junior.
Thomas passed away Nov. 3, 1927 and was buried at Graham's Chapel Cemetery in Comanche Co., Texas.
