When John Logan Ewing was born on January 15, 1870, in Arkansas, his father, George, was 23 and his mother, Sarah, was 18. He married Elizabeth Ruby Tinsley on February 17, 1889, in Pope, Arkansas. They had eight children during their marriage. He died on November 5, 1903, in Pope, Arkansas, at the age of 33, and was buried there.
I believe he was Riley Lee Ewing in the 1870 Census. His father was out of the picture not long after his birth as his mother remarried in 1873.
