Biography

William was born Dec. 2, 1825 to James Leeper Ewing Sr. and his second wife Betsy (Ellison) Ewing.

He passed away July 2, 1827 and was buried in the "Ellison Cemetery" (which one not specified by records) in Tennessee.

Inscription on gravestone: In Memory of William A. D. Ewing, son of James L. & Betsy Ewing born Dec 6, 1825 departed this life July 2, 1827

Ellison Cemetery is located east of Farmington, on the Paul Woodward Farm. Gravestones copied in 1965 by Ralph D. Whitesell.

According to the family bible as transcribed by Laura Ewing in 1972, he died July 2nd 1827 of Blody (sic) Flux." Note: "Bloody Flux" is diarrhea in which blood is mixed with the intestinal discharge
