William Eyre, gent. of Wilts. (b. c. 1585/9; living 05 Jan 1624 - d. Nov 1646),[1][2] is the fifth son of Thomas Eyre and Elizabeth Rogers.[3]
Education
Alumni Oxonienses, states that William was the son of Thomas Eyre of New Sarum (aka Thomas Eyre, MP of Salisbury), and that he matriculated into Balliol College, Oxford, at the age of 16 on 15 November 1605. This would place his birth date to c. 1589.[1][4]
Occupation
Barrister at Law.
1630: Bencher
Events
Per the original will of his brother Christopher of London, dated 29 Jul 1617, William was supposed to inherit 1000 pounds. But he and his elder brother Robert were written out of the will in 1624.[2][5]
Bonham was conveyed to William by his father. This is stated in the 02 October 1629 inquisition post-mortem of Thomas Eyre, which states:
"The said tenement called Bonhames was conveyed to William Eyre, esq., son of the said Thomas, and to his heirs."[6]
According to Burke (1836), William left this estate at Bonham to his great-nephew, Sir Samuel Eyre,[7] so he apparently had no direct biological heir(s).

Since there were only 4 or 5 brothers who survived ... maybe one of those who died young (and who are not named in Visitations) was named William? Given the fact that there seems to be valid evidence that a Wm was bp. c. 1585 as St. Thos registers assert, maybe this William who survived was a second Wm. b. c. 1589 as the Oxford registry states? The alternative might be a transcription typo ... That's why I wrote birth as b. c. 1585 x 1589.
