Biography of Edna Jessie Fagan Henderson

Edna Jessie Fagan was born on March 19, 1898, in Butler, Pennsylvania. Her father was William Fagan, age 43 and her mother, Sarah Hughes was 42. ^[1][2]

The Fagan family Bible states that she married Ernest Herbert Henderson on July 11, 1917, in Butler County, Pennsylvania. In the 1920 census, it states that they are living in Butler City on Carnegie Street. They have a nine-month old son, named Ernest Hollis and Ernest's father, Robert A. Henderson is living with them. ^[3][4]

In 1930, they are living on Whitmire Avenue in Butler. They have three children living with them. Jane is nine, William is six, and Mary L. is 20 months old. Sadly, Hollis, who suffered from infantile paralysis (polio) since the age of 3, passed away at the age of 5 from bronchial pneumonia. ^[5][6]

In 1940 they are living at 115 American Avenue in Butler, PA. Edna is 42 and is a housewife. Jane is 22 and working as a clerk in a department store. William is 16 and is a newspaper carrier. Mary L is 6. ^[7]
