William Herman Fagan was born on 20 October 1924 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest of two sons of Marcus Fagan and Clara Allen. [1]

On 28 Nov 1942 William enlisted into the Army. He was single and had four years of high school. His civilian training included Semiskilled chauffeurs and drivers, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor. He entered as a private into the Army Air Corps. His Army career included Reserves - exclusive of Regular Army Reserve and Officers of the Officers Reserve Corps on active duty under the Thomason Act (Officers and Enlisted Men -- O.R.C. and E.R.C., and Nurses-Reserve Status). [2]

William enlisted on 3 Feb 1943 in the Army Air Corps and was discharged 22 May 1944 to enter the 8th Fighter Group on the next day 23 May 1944. He served in that capacity until 3 Aug 1946. He served in the US Army Reserves and retired as a Major. [3]

On 5 Jul 1944 William married Margaret "Peg" Rose Beilstein , daughter of Clarence Charles Beilstein and Bessie Peardie M Fennell. [4][5]

Their son, Jack Marcus Fagan was born on Feb. 28, 1957 in Butler, Butler, Pennsylvania, USA. [6] Unfortunately, Jack was killed in a stabbing that occurred while he was home on leave and after having been in a minor traffic accident. From the article below it would seem two men stabbed him and he died. [7]

William passed away on 29 Oct 1994 and is buried in Butler County Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Butler, Pennsylvania. [8]
