Will of Thomas Fain

State of Georgia Decatur Co.

In the name of God Amen. I, Thomas Fain of the state and county aforesaid being in good health at this time, but calling to mind the mortality of all mankind and knowing that it is appointed for all to die, I do therefore constitute this my last will and testament.

First of all I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, who gave it.

As to my worldly state my will is, that first my beloved wife keep and enjoy all property, both real and personal during her natural life or widowhood and after her death in the second place my will is that my son Thomas P. Fain, should have the land whereon I now live and the lot adjoining, which are Nos. Fifty-four and Fifty five in the Twenty-second District of originally Early now Decatur County, with all the appurtenances belonging thereto, to have and to hold the same, and in the third place, after the death of my wife, that all the rest of my property be sold and out of the money from said sale:

I bequeath in the following manner to wit: I give Mary Martin two hundred dollars; to Rebecca McMullen two hundred dollars; to Clary Strickland two hundred dollars; to Ann Whiddon two hundred dollars and to Lavicy McCall two hundred dollars; and to Levicy Marshall two hundred dollars; and in the fourth place that if any remains for it to be equally divided amongst the heirs with the exception of Thomas P. Fain for is is to have no part but the land above mentioned. In the fifth place and last I appoint Thomas P. Fain and Joseph Marshall the executors of this my last will and testament.

This 2d March 1832 A.D.
