Biography

Jedediah Farmer was born on April 05, 1802 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. His parents were John Farmer and Lydia Richardson. [1] He was baptized 27 Jun 1803.[2]

He located to Hingham in 1827.[3]

He married Mary Crooker on May 11, 1828.[3] She was the daughter of Major Turner Crooker. Children:

  10. Ella

"Printer."[3]

He was a senior partner in the firm of Farmer & Brown, the fits publishers of the "Hingham Gazette." Later, he became the sole proprietor. He subsequently was the owner and publisher of the :Hingham Patriot."[3]

His brother, John Farmer. a significant genealogist and historian, dedicated his 1828 Farmer genealogy, to him:[4]

"To Jedidiah Farmer, The following Memoir of our Ancestors, collected from various authentic sources, and with considerable enquiry and investigation, is offered to you as a token of fraternal regard and affection, by your affectionate brother,

He lived on North Street opposite Marsh's Bridge in Hingham.[3]
