It is believed that Aquila Farmer was the oldest child of William Farmer and Polly Burch ... but not confirmed.
Aquila Farmer is believed to have been born about 1767 at South Carolina, maybe around Spartanburg? The earliest documentation of Aquila Farmer is on an 1830 Census at Bledsoe, Tennessee. The family consisted of 1 boy under age 5, one boy between 10 - 14, male 50 - 59 = 1; one female 10 - 14; 2 females 15 - 19 and one female 40 - 49. Total of 7 persons in the home.
We believe the elder female was Mary Nail, spouse to Aquila.
The 1840 U.S. Census Aquila Farmer's household consisted of: Males 20 < 29 = 1; Males 60 < 69 = 1; Females 20 < 29 = 1; and Females 60 < 69 = 1, total 4 persons, 2 in agriculture.
Aquila Farmer was a Farmer ... was his Surname created because it was convenient? Because it was his fathers Surname or because of what his ancestors had done for generations?

Aquila Farmer and Mary Nail Farmers' daughter Sarah, born January of 1811, Sarah lived next door ... a blessing. Sarah was a recent widow, she had 6 children aged 4 to 17 in the year 1850.
Other than being a farmer, a land owner, a husband, father and grandfather, we know not of Aquila Farmers life. Some records spelled his first name Aquila, others Aguillar and also Aquilla.
It is believed that Aquila Farmer died some time around 1851 at Johnson Co., Arkansas. It was the October 1850 U.S. Federal Census at Mulberry, Johnson Co.
