Marlin Farmer, son of James Farmer,[1] was born in 1766. He died in 1828 at the age of 62.
FamilySearch.org notes several different names for Marlin Farmer, including Martin Farmer, and William Marlin Farmer as well as a nickname of "Billy".[2] The preponderance of references call him Marlin, including the listings that recorded both of his marriages.
After the death of Betsy, he married Sarah Motely on 16 Oct 1823, in Pittsylvania, Virginia.[6]
From the 1883 History of Pike County regarding his son:[7]
"John Farmer (deceased), farmer, was born in Pittsylvania county, Virginia, in 1800, and was the son of William and Elizabeth (Eckells) Farmer.

Farmer-4504 and Farmer-2633 appear to represent the same person because: Records indicate the same marriage date, place, spouse and son for both Marlin Farmer (Farmer-4504) and "Martin" Farmer (Farmer-2633). Multiple records indicate Marlin is the correct first name. "Martin" may have been simply a spelling error during data entry.
