Lura A. Blevins, 87, of Whitetop, a resident of Beverly Heathcare Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Galax, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the center.
She was the widow of Clarence Blevins and was preceded in death by a son, Dean Blevins.
She was born July 9, 1917, in Rugby to Thelbert Farmer and Gertrude Farmer Farmer.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Daniel Trivett of Mouth of Wilson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Shelby Blevins of Abingdon; Chester and Linda Blevins of Manassas and Melvin and Barbara Blevins of Whitetop; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Sunday in Upper Helton Baptist Church, Whitetop, with burial in Haw Orchard Cemetery in Rugby. The Rev. Jim Greer and the Rev. Rex Hall officiated.
