Biography

Alexander was born on 19 Mar 1844 in Georgia. He was the son of George Farnsworth and Elizabeth Bartley. Alexander passed away in Arkansas on 19 May 1914 and was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Clarksville, Arkansas.[1]

1850 Census: Alexander F. Farnsworth is living with his mother, Elizabeth Farnsworth (44), in Walker County, Georgia. The record shows that Alexander was 6 years old and that he was born in Georgia. Also residing in the home were Alexander's siblings Thos J. (20), Rachel D. (18), Nancy A. (16), Robert L. (14), Geo W. (12), James W. (10), and Elizabeth E. (8).[2]

1880 Census: Alexander Farnsworth and his wife Laura J. (28) Farnsworth are living in Scott County, Arkansas. The record notes that Alexander was 34 and that he was born in Georgia. The couple have 3 children in their home: Charles (7), Nesbert (2), and 2 month old Seabern.[3]

1900 Census: Elexander F. Farnsworth and Lara V. Farnsworth (49) are living in the Kings Township of Johnson County, Arkansas where the couple own a farm. The record indicates that Elexander was born in Georgia during March of 1844 and that he had been married to Lara for 30 years. There are 3 children in the household: Ceburn A. (19). Leola (16), and Lou E. (14).[4]

1910 Census: Elex F. and Laura J. (59) Farnsworth continue to live on their farm in the King Township area of Johnson County, Arkansas. The record reflects that Elex was 65 and that he was born in Georgia. The record also shows that he had been married to Laura for 38 years and that their marriage was his second and her first.[5]
