Biography

Jacob was born about 1625. Jacob Farrar ... He passed away in 1697. [1]

He is said to have married Sarah Holdsworth, but no marriage record found at the moment.[2]

Burial 1 September 1697 at Luddenden.[3] The burial was also noted in the Northowram and Coley register: "Jacob farrar of Warly bur. at Luddenden Sep. 1. 1697, aged 71".[4]

Will of Jacob Farrer of Sload in Warley 1696/7 Mar. 4: "Jacob Farrer of Sload in Warley, Yorks., yeoman. Whereas I have borrowed £220 of Joshua Wade late of Saltonstall in Warley, yeoman, deceased, my sons Isaac and Abraham Farrer shall pay the said debt. Whereas I have surrendered and given up with a straw into the hands of the Lord of the Manor of Wakefield by Benjamin Nicholson and Henry Naylor all that messuage, &c., in Warley, to the use of the said Isaac and his heirs for ever. Unto Sarah now my wife and Jonathan Farrer my son £4 a year. Unto Jacob Farrer my son 20/- a year. To John Farrer my son £20. To Abraham Farrer my son the messuage, &c., called the Sload. Unto the said Sarah my wife one bed and bedding and one chest at her election forthe of my personal estate hoping that therewith and with the said several annuities to her herein devised shee will be fully satisfied and contented for all her right of dower unto my reall as well as personal estate. Unto the said Abraham my son all my household goodes. Unto the said Isaac £120 due to me from John Farrer my son. Unto the said Isaac Farrer and Abraham Farrer all the residue, executors.
