Shadrack Farrars birth was recorded by Rev Wm Douglas, Anglican Pastor of Dover Church, St James Northam Parish, Goochland Co, Va from 1750 to 1777
Shadrack migrated with family to Pittsylvania Co, VA where he joined the Pittsylvania Co, VA militia oe the Continental Army and wrote his will in 1780, proved in 1782 in which he provides for his mother Elizabth from his Plantation, his younger siblings Seth, Priscilla (Pressley sic), and Renard.
Given that militia were conscripted for short periods of time, often about three months, as they had to be released to help the family with their farm or plantation, it is suggested that Shadrack was actually a member of the continental army
After the will was proved, his heirs,in Oct 1783 sold his estate to John Young, brother of George Young. And relocated down the Upper Road,to the fertile soil of the piedmont in north west South Carolina, in particular Greenville County, and Pendleton District, now Oconee, Pickens and Nelson Counties.
