page 278/9 John FARRAR deposed 2 April 1695, he was age 25. [Henrico Co. Deeds & Wills 1688-97, p. 576.] He married 11 Nov 1691, Temperance (BROWN) BATTE, widow of Thomas BATTE and daughter of John BROWN and his wife Sarah (later Mrs. John WOODSON). In her will Sarah WOODSON named her daughter Temperance FARRAR and grandchildren Martha BATTE, John FARRAR and Mary FARRAR. {Henrico Co. Wills & Deeds 1697-1704, p. 427.]

William FARRAR died before 5 Dec 1715 when his verbal will was proved by Temperance FARRAR. [Henrico Co. Wills & Deeds 1714-18, p. 55. Temperance FARRAR quoted him as saying "Father, I hope you will not take what little I have from my wife"; his father answered, "No," and William said he would die easy. His wife Martha returned the inventory of his estate.] [His wife Martha was presumably Martha BATTE, his uncle John FARRAR's stepdaughter.]
