John Farrer was born about 1557, his birthdate was an estimate based on his being 25 at the time of his first child's birthdate, the location of his birth is not known. It is unlikely that he was born in Burnley Parish, as the parish records are generally complete for this period, and there are few entries for the name Farrer before 1582. The names of his parents are not known. Detached him from his uncertain parents Henry Ferror and Ann Barcroft. He may have been baptised in Hepstonsall Chapel but the parish registers do not begin until 1593 so there are no records prior to that. FindMyPast only has Bishop's transcripts which do not begin until 1602.
John is said to have married Isabell Houghton in about 1575 at Hepstonstall, Yorkshire, and this or similar date is shown on most online trees. No marriage sources have been found to support this profile.
Thomas Farrar I (abt.1576-abt.1621) and Henry Farrar (abt.1581-) were not born at Burnley, Lancashire. Further Research is needed.
