Biography

Josiah Farrow was born at Islesboro, Maine, 26 Jan 1786, the son of Josiah Worcester Farrow and Ruth Richards; ^[1] died at Belfast, Maine, 11 Aug 1861, as a result of being stabbed at Havana, Cuba, 19 May 1861, by a crew member of the ship, Ocean Traveller, ^{[2] [3]} and is buried in the Grove Cemetery; ^[4] married (1) at Islesboro, 9 April 1815, Mary Boardman; ^[5] married (2) at Saint Andrews, New Brunswick, 5 Dec 1825, Mary Ann Handy. ^{[6] [7]}

Had military service, War of 1812. ^[8]

Ship carpenter at Calais ^[9] and master mariner at Belfast, Maine. ^[10]
