Thomas Farthing was born in 1696- born or baptized on 2 Feb, in Powerstock Parish, Dorset, England, according to "Jim's tree on ancestry.com (however, this record did not show up in a search of the UK genealogical collection of findmypast.co.uk by J. deR. on 1 Feb 2016).
He married Elizabeth Gill on 10 Jan 1720, in the same parish,[1] and was buried at St. Mary's Anglican church there on 31 Dec 1758, age not reported.[2][3]
Note that Powerstock village is about 10.8 km, by twisty road, from the village of Netherbury, where daughter Mary Farthing married Samuel Forsey in 1746. An attractive (but copyrighted) photo of the village in 2010 is available at https://ssl.panoramio.com/photo/31616147.
