Biography

The information presented here is incorrect. With the parents given as John and Hannah Faulkenberry, this would be the brother of William Jasper Fortenberry who did indeed move into Mississippi by 1820, however..... Jacob, the brother of William Jasper, bought land in South Carolina and died there by 1818.

Notes

Fortenberry DNA: R1b Group A-Original familytreedna.com

It is obvious that this Fortenberry family used the spellings of "Fortenberry" interchangeably with "Faulkenberry". There are several variations for the name FORTENBERRY, but I will keep to these two spellings for this family.

Please bear with me as I attempt to recreate this man's profile. I have adopted it because it needed cleaning up and I hope I am not stepping on any toes!!

I am going to try to connect this Fortenberry tree with a more solid and RESEARCHED family tree so hopefully it will be of use to others who are related to the family.

If you have suggestions.... I would LOVE to hear from you! Please contact me through WikiTree messaging.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob:

I am trying to place Jacob Faulkenberry-48, 1805, SC with the correct family.

His son, Samuel Albert Faulkenberry is in the “R1b Group A-Original” on the Fortenberry DNA website.

21 kit #150856 Faulkenberry, Samuel Albert (1850 - 1919) Haplo: R-M269

Is this profile the same as Jacob that is also R-M269?
