Biography

John Faulkner Sr., (also spelled Forkner, Fortner, Falkner or Falconer) was the original family immigrant from Great Britain who arrived on 22 Jan 1665 in Kent County in the Colony of Maryland on the ship "Agreement." He came with his wife Elizabeth, sons Thomas, Francis & John Jr., and two servants. He paid 300 pounds of tobacco for their passage, indicating that he was a wealthy man (a draper = a cloth merchant), as many early colonists came as indentured servants, paying off their passage in labor in America.[1]

Why is his relationship with his mother uncertain?
I do not see the Uncertain button for that relationship; what is Uncertain is the birth year - no documents have ever been found to confirm that year but it "fits" with other known events in his life.
