Biography

Alfred Faulkner was born about 1810. He was the son of John Faulkner and Margaret Morland.

On 11th July 1840, Alfred married spinster, Mary Roper. The marriage took place in Newport, Hampshire. ^[1]

In 1841, Alfred and Mary were living in St James, Westminster, Middlesex. The couple had a baby daughter, Mary. Alfred was about 30-years-old. ^[2]

In 1851, Alfred and Mary were living in Regent Street, St James, Wesminster. Alfred was a 40-year-old draper and father of three. Also in the household were two servants, a porter and two other individuals where their relationship wasn't specified. Their names were George Morris and John Madens. ^[3]

By 1861, Alfred was widowed. He was 50-years-old and still a resident in Regent Street. Also in the household were two daughters, Alfred's sister, Emma, two servants, two assistants and a porter. ^[4]

Alfred passed away on 26th October 1870. His death was registered in Westminster. ^[5] Alfred was buried on 29th October 1870 in Brompton cemetery. His probate was released on 20th January 1871. Effects were less than £9000. The will named son, Alfred Morland Faulkner and Mary Elizabeth Hussey as primary beneficiaries. ^[6]
