She was a nurse serving during WWII when she married Sir Glyn Smallwood Jones on 6 November 1942; they had the following children:

Nancy is believed to have died in Kent, England, on 31 May 1998, her ashes were placed with those of her husband and son Timothy, in the cemetery at Zomba, Malawi, in 1999.[2][3]
