Joe Fenney was an outstanding Irish Tenor vocalist who sang on the Lawrence Welk television show for many years. He often sang well known Irish tunes like "Galway Bay"

Joe Fenney married Georgia Lee Gryva, whom he met at the University of Nebraska, and had ten children.

Joe Fenney lost his wife before his own death.

Joe Fenney passed away in Carlsbad, California in 2008, due to emphysema, possibly caused by second hand smoke from the clubs he worked in. He never smoked.
