It is unclear what the source is for the two daughters named Amy and Edith.

Biography

William Fenwick was born in about 1840 in Stillington, Yorkshire, England to William Fenwick and Jane.

In 1841 Wm Fenwick (age 1) lived in Stillington with his father Wm (40-44), mother Jane (35-39), and three siblings: Robert (13), Elizh (10), and John (8).[1]

In 1851 William Fenwick (age 11, Scholar) lived in Stillington with his father William (51, Ag Lab) and sister Elizabeth (20, At Home).[2]

In 1861 William Fenwick (age 19, Farmer Servant) lived at Cowslip Hill in Bishop Wilton, Yorkshire in the household of his employer.[3]

William Fenwick married Martha Hatfield in 1864. The marriage was registered in Pocklington, Yorkshire in the last quarter of the year.[4]

William and Martha had eight children:

  2. Sarah Jane Fenwick (1867-1878)
  3. Eva Fenwick (1869-)
  4. John Edwin "Ted" Fenwick (1873-1966)

In 1871 William Fennrick [Fenwick] (age 30, Farm Labourer) lived in New Millerdam, Yorkshire with his wife Martha (26) and three children: Alfred (5, Scholar), Sarah Ann (3), and Eva (1).[5]

In 1881 William Fenwick (age 41, Agricult Labr) lived in Sandal Magna, Yorkshire with his wife Martha (36) and five children: Alfred (15, Groom Dom), Eva (11, Scholar), John E (7, Scholar), Harry (4), and Harrison (2).[6]

In 1891 William Fenwick (age 48, Agricultural Labourer) lived at Thornhill Terrace in Wortley, Yorkshire with his wife Martha (46) and seven children: Alfred (25, Tailor), Eva (21, Tailoress), John E (17, Packer in Warehouse), Harry (14, Errand Boy), Harrison (12, Scholar), Percy (8, Scholar), and Hilda (6, Scholar).[7]

In 1901 William Fenwick (age 58, Clerk in Coal Yard) lived in Wortley with his wife Martha (56) and five children: Eva (30, Jacket Machinist), Harry (25, Woollen Warehouseman), Harrison (22, Mineral Water Manufacturer), Percy (18, Shoe Maker), and Hilda (16).[8]

William Fenwick passed away in 1906, aged 63 years. His death was registered in Bramley, Yorkshire in the second quarter of the year.[9]
