Margaret Fergusson was born about 1832 in Girthon, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. She married William Baird on 29 Jan 1856 in Girthon, Kirkcudbright, Scotland. They had several children, all born in Parton, Kirkcudbright, Scotland: James Baird b. 1859, Mary Jane Baird b. 1860, Janet Baird b. 1862, George Baird b. 1865, Maggie Baird b. 1867, Elisabeth Baird b. 1869, William James Baird b. 1871 and Mina Baird b. 1874.

Margaret died 29 January 1895 in Meikle, Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.
