Duncan Ferguson was born before abt. 1740 at Laggan in Strathyre, Balquhidder, Stirlingshire, Scotland.

Duncan (1740-1784) is buried at Balquhidder Church Cemetery in Balquhidder, Stirlingshire, Scotland. ^[2]

The Grave site of Duncan Donald Ferguson may be located in the Balquidder Church Cemetery as described in a passage in Records of The Clan Fergusson, Ferguson and Fergus. 1895 p 214 Another stone adjoining bears the initials D. M. F. and M. M., with the following inscription :—' Here lies in hope of a blessed resurrection the remains of Duncan Fergusson in Laggan of Strathire, who died in the year 1784, aged 44 years. Being of the anchant family of Artandamh. This stone was erected by Peter Fergusson, Peter Ferguson (abt.1766-1849), his son.' Then follow these verses: 'How loved, how valued Once, avails thee not. By whom remembered, Or by whom forgot, A heap of dust alone remains of thee. It is that thou art, It is all the proud shall be.' ^[2]
