Biography

Lewis B. Ferguson was born August 19, 1799, in South Carolina. In 1824, Lewis married Dolly Ogburn. Lewis and Dolly are found on the United States Census of 1880, living in Clear Creek, Mecklenburg, North Carolina. ^[1]

Lewis died after 1880 and is buried in the Ira V. Ferguson Memorial Cemetery, in Mint Hill, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. ^[2] (See notes)

Researchers Notes

Although Lewis' Find A Grave memorial indicates that he died in 1886, that is the year that his wife died. The year of death inscribed on his headstone is 1879: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/19969577/lewis-b-ferguson#view-photo=20302457 This is not correct, either, since he is found on the 1880 census, at the age of 81 years.
