Biography

The name is Farguson - never Ferguson


Will of his father, Abraham Farguson Item - my just debts and funeral expenses being paid I give my son Wm. Farguson a negro girl named Patty to him & his heirs forever.

Item - I give my tracts of land lying in Spotsylvania Co. containing about 600 & 12 acres to be divided equally between my two sons William & Abraham to them & their heirs forever after the decease of my beloved wife Milly to whom I give possession of the same tract of land during her life or widowhood.

William Farguson is on the PP lists - but never brother Abraham.

Land tax records bef 1786 are in very poor shape, many pages missing. I have copied the pages that remain but found no Fergusons.

1814 - Land tax of Spotsylvania William Furguerson of Spotsylvania owned 306 acres on the N. fork of the Pamunkey, 20 miles west of the court house. John Quarles of Spotsylvania owned 1012 1/4 acres on the S. fork of the Pamunkey, 20 miles west of the court house

1815 - same as 1814 for Furguson. John Quarles not listed.
