Anne, daughter of William de Ferrers and his first wife, the daughter of John de Segrave, was born before January 1317 (her father, William, remarried before 19 January 1316/7).[2]Her father was Lord Ferrers of Groby, and on 20 April 1335 she married Edward le Despenser "at Groby (in Ratby), Leicestershire".[1][3] It is likely that she was born there also.
Anne died a widow (Edward having been slain in battle in 1342) on 8 August 1367.[1]
Research Notes
A profile for a daughter, Anne (born c1346), was detached, since Edward died in 1342 and no support is given for the relationship in either her profile or this one.
Mother's Given Name: Richardson shows Anne's mother as "[?Margaret/?Alice], daughter of John de Segrave, Knt., 2nd Lord Segrave" in Magna Carta Ancestry.[1] In Royal Ancestry, he drops Alice, but keeps the question mark in front of Margaret.[6]
Death Location: "Groby, Leicestershire" removed from datafield for death place. She probably died at Burley: "In the following year [1365] she settled half the manor of Burley, Rutland on herself for life, with remainder to her son, Sir Thomas le Despenser."[1]
Magna Carta trails
Anne is listed in Douglas Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry as a descendant of Magna Carta Surety BaronSaher de Quincy and ancestor of many Gateway Ancestors.[2] She is not, though, included in Magna Carta trails from Gateways to Surety Barons that the Magna Carta Project has either badged or identified as on its agenda for development.

I have been unable to confirm that Anne was a Lady Companion of the Garter & intend to remove that category. If you have a source, please post it! Thanks, Liz
The category page includes a link to Memorials of the Order of the Garter, from Its Foundation to the Present Time... by George Frederick Beltz. I could not find her as Ferrers or Despenser in that book.
