" Maria Louise Ferris Blakeman, 89, a lifelong Newtown resident, died Saturday at the Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury.
Mrs. Blakeman lived at Boggs Hill Road. She was the wife of the late Charles Courtland Blakeman who died in 1979.
She was born in Newtown, June 23, 1908, a daughter of Charles David and Fannie Ophelia Thornhill Ferris. She was a graduate of Newtown High School.
Mrs. Blakeman was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown and the Pohtatuck Grange #129 of Newtown.
She was known for exhibiting her apples at local fairs including the former Danbury State Fair.
Her survivors include a brother, George D.W. Ferris of Danbury; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews." her obituary
