Biography

Joseph Ferris was born the "6th mo 20 1657" (Aug 20, 1657 using updated calendar) at Stamford, Connecticut. He was the son of Peter.^[1]

Joseph married Mary Hoyt Dec 12, 1686 at Stamford.^[2]

Joseph and Mary had the following known children:^[3]

According to Mead (who isn't always accurate), Joseph died about 1727.^[3]

Joseph Ferris, Sr. died April 7, 1733, at Stamford, Connecticut.

His will is dated 31 March 1726 and proved on 4 May 1736. All the children or their husbands signed and agreed to the distribution of the will, viz, Mary Ferris, Joseph Ferris, Nathan Ferris, Samuel Ferris, Mary Weed, Joseph Pardee, Elisabeth Pardee, John Penoyer, Abigail Penoyer, Charles Thorp, Hannah Thorp, Joseph Husted, and Deborah Husted.^[4]

NOTE: Uncertain if this is the same Joseph.^[5]
