Biography

The 1932 Battey Genealogy names "Rebecca" Ferris as the wife of Allen Palmer. This is repeated in the 1966 Palmer genealogy. It is known that Allen Palmer was living in Genoa, Cayuga County, New York in 1840 and that he was the only Allen Palmer there at the time. Within the now long abandoned, mostly destroyed cemetery, across the road from the current Maplewood Cemetery, in Genoa, New York, is buried "Ann" wife of Allen Palmer, according to a 1962 transcription. Since other close Palmer relatives were buried there, and there was only one Allen Palmer living there at the time, it is firmly believed that "Rebecca Ann" Ferris was the wife of Allen Palmer.

The source of her birth and death is her gravestone within the old burying grounds across the road from the Maplewood Cemetery, Genoa, Cayuga County, New York. The source of her name comes from page 101 within the 1932 Battey Family History along with that same gravestone.
