Private John Fickett Jr. served with 1st Regiment, Cumberland County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

John Fickett Jr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A038426.

John, son of John Fickett & Isabel Dyer, was born on 27 March 1752 in Falmouth, Maine, United States.[1]

Lucy Stanford, daughter of Josiah Stanford Jr. and Sarah Woodbury married John Ficket on 28 May 1774 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Maine, United States.[2]

additional information :: Went to Raymond, Maine, for a short time, but returned and lived on his father's farm at Barren Hill. In 1784, he bought of his father four acres adjoining land of Christopher Dyer and Josiah Stanford. John Fickett, Jr. was a master mariner, and was engaged for many years in the West India trade.

Late in life, Captain Fickett retired from the sea to his farm, and taught navigation.
