Orin (or Orrin) Field, born 12 Jun 1792 at Cornwall, Vermont, was a son of Elisha Field (1763-1852) and Ruth (Kirkham) Field (abt.1770-abt.1835) [1].

His first wife was Hannah Drury (1795 - 1836), who he married in 1826 [2].

He married second, 22 Mar 1815 at Cornwall, Vermont, Maria Alvord. They had 4 children [3]:

  1. Juliana Maria Field, b. 16 Jun 1816; married 11 May 1841 John J. Herdon of Rutherford, N. Carolina; d. 12 Aug 1892
  2. Evalina Pamelia Field, b. 24 Feb 1818; married 24 Jul 1839 Abijah Abbott; d. 28 Jan 1886, Madison, Wisconsin
  3. Benjamin Stearns Field, b. 17 Jan 1820; married 1) 11 May 1841 Emily Ellsworth; 2) 7 Jul 1870 Harriet H. Rowe
  4. Caroline Field, b. 3 Sep 1822; married 8 Sep 1841 William H. Lane of Cornwall, Vermont

Orin Field married third, 20 Oct 1836 at Bridport, Vermont, Almyra (per per grave marker) or Amanda (per marriage record) Searl (1810 - 1843) [4].

His fourth wife was Rhoda Weeks (nee Robinson; 1798 - 1884), widow of Salmon Weeks, who he married 5 Dec 1844 at Cornwall, Vermont [5].

Per the Alvord genealogy, Orrin Field was a soldier at battle of Plattsburg in 1814, and rose to the rank of Major in the Militia. He was a member of the Congregational Church at Cornwall for fifty years ; was a Justice of Peace and represented the town of Cornwall, Vt., in the Legislature, 1856-57. He was four times married.

Orrin Field died 16 Mar 1882 at Cornwall, Vermont [6]. His grave is in South Cemetery, Cornwall, Addison County, Vermont, USA [7].
